Dear Sir, I am a Permenent resident of U.K. I entered in U.K. on 31st May 2007.as a nurse(NVQ)and my family (husbend & childrens) entered in U..K on 25th May 2009 as dependents.We got P,R.on 20-12-2012 . Can we apply for Citizenship before 28th Oct 2013.

Your eligibility for Naturalization will start from 21122013. This is because you are required to have completed 1 year in the UK after getting PR. Regarding your children I understand they were born abroad. If they are minors when you apply for citizenship they can also apply for british citizenship by registration uner discretion using MN1 form. Regarding your husband he should complete 5 years in the UK or he may apply on the basis of marriage to a british citizen (this will be the case when you get citizenship). For the marriage route you only need to show that you have stayed in the UK for 3 years, has PR and married to a btitish citizen. In all cases standard citizenship requirements will also apply.

Dear Sir,I am working as an executive secretary in Abu Dhabi UAE. I would like to work in UK and my age is 52. I am graduate and have 24 years of experiecne in admin field for the above post. Could I work in UK, if so how I get visa. pls advise. G. George

Dear Mr George

Thanks for your query. The article given in this session would provide you more information about Tier2 general visas. It is not possible to come and work in the UK on a long term basis without getting sponsorship from a UK based employer. Even if an employer would like to employ you in the UK he may not be able to sponsor you for visas as that is determined by the Tier2 code of practise. Jobs that are in shortage occupation list in the UK are easily available for migrants however only limited specified jobs are listed in this category.
Link to current Shortage Occupation link for your information:

Other category of visa that you might be able to consider would be Tier1 entrepreneur visa. This is available for entrepreneurs who would like to come to the UK to set up, take over, merge businesses in the UK and have access to £200000 for investment in the UK. If you would like to know more about this visa I would suggest you to speak to a UK Immigration lawyer.
