Is it true that it is not possible to get Permanent Residency for migrant workers in the UK from 2016?

It is not true that UK is closing door for migrants to settle permanently. However it will be extremely difficult for migrants in skilled worker category to obtain permanent residency in the UK from 2016. From 2016 April a skilled worker migrant (Mainly Tier2 visa holders/work permit holders) must be able to show that they are earning minimum £35,000 per year through their approved employment in the UK. It will be difficult for many migrants to earn this annual income especially for migrants who are working in Care Homes, Nurses, Restaurant & hotel staff etc. This rule will be mainly affecting migrants who obtained their visa on or after 04/04/2011. If a Tier2 migrant worker/work permit holder who entered after 2011 is not able to obtain Permanent Residency within 6 years of their first entry they will have to leave the UK and will not be able to come back or extend their visa until they finish 1 year cooling off period outside the UK.
