The Kristu Jyoti Group of Schools is one of the Group of schools owned by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation of the St. Joseph's Province, Thiruvananthapuram.
Kristu Jyoti School, the first member of the group was started as an unaided recognized school in 1984.The outstanding academic record consistently maintained by the school in the SSLC Board examination and that of Placid Vidya Vihar, a sister concern in the CBSE Public Exam and its achievements in co-curricular activities ever since its inception have made it one of the most reputed schools in the state.

OUR VISION
Inspired by the perennial response to the age-old aspiration of the rishis of our Arsha Bharata expressed in the Upanishadic prayer; “Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya”,  Kristu Jyoti School has taken  “lighted for life “ as its motto.

OUR MISSION
As a CMI Educational Institution, the school regards education as integral to the formation of the human person for the fulfilment of his/ her individual and social responsibilities. INSPIRATION                         
The Schools are dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Teacher par Excellence. Our inspirational source is Bl. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the co-founder of CMI Congregation. Quality Education is our concern and it is Bl. Chavara who is our inspiration for this. His vision of starting schools attached to the Churches (Pallikkoodom) flourished fast.     

MANAGEMENT
The Present Manager of Kristu Jyoti Group of Schools is Rev. Fr. James Thayil CMI and the principal is Rev. Fr. Cyriac Madathil CMI. Rev. Fr. Paul Thamarassery CMI is the Vice-Principal of the group and Rev. Fr. Mathew Puthenpura CMI is the Finance Officer.

KRISTU JYOTI HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL                             
It is an unaided co-ed English Medium School which follows the state syllabus upto plus two level. The school is located at Chethipuzha on the S.H. Monastery campus, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The school campus is beautiful with shady trees and lawns. Almost twenty years fruitful existence is a credit to this institution.     

    
PLACID VIDYA VIHAR SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL                       
Placid Vidya Vihar is also a co-ed English Medium School with the C.B.S.E. syllabus upto plus two level. It is located at Chethipuzha on the S.H. Monastery Campus. The magnificent school building with the scenic beauty adds grandeur to the fabulous atmosphere of real education.    

PLACID KINDER GARTEN
Placid Kindergarten was started to nurture the young ones to further studies in C.B.S.E. and state syllabi. Well trained and devoted staff take care of the little ones.

KRISTU JYOTI COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY                   
We need more and more technological and management professionals, as the world turns Computerised and technologically oriented. Keeping this in view Kristu Jyoti Group stepped into a new venture, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology. The college conducts MCA course approved by A.I.C.T.E. New Delhi and is affiliated to M.G. University.

FACILITIES                         
Placid Kindergarten is the KG section of both the schools. A student who joins Placid Kindergarten can complete his education up to the Plus Two level, as the Schools offer Plus Two course both in State and CBSE syllabii.
The Vidya Jyoti Boarding House for Boys functions in the premises creates a homely atmosphere to the inmates.
Enough number of school buses and vans provide conveyance to students who need transportation facilities. A hygienic canteen facility is also available in the campus.         
FEATURES                                             
Apart from the languages mentioned in the school curriculum, students have the option for Special English and French. Crash courses during summer vacation on Computer, Sports and Games, Painting, Instrumental Music etc. enrich the creative talents of the children.
