MHRD Offers Monetary Aid to Students with its National Means Cum Merit Scholarship 2018-19

Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, is offering a scholarship to exemplary students of class 9, who are impoverished and are finding hurdles in continuing their secondary stage education, thus minimising the number of dropouts in class 8.

Last date to submit the application form is October 31, 2018. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, candidates need to fulfil the mandated requirements:

Eligibility

• Applicant must have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent in class 7 and 8.
• Annual family income must not be more than INR 1.50 Lac.
• Relaxation of 5% will be given to SC and ST candidates.

Scholarship Reward

Selected students will be awarded INR 6000 per annum i.e. INR 500 per month by the Central Government.
