Dear Sir
I am currently settled in the UK. I wish to invite my relative to the UK. What is the maximum length for a visit visa to the UK? He wish to come for a period of three months. Please reply.
Yours faithfully,

| UK visit visa is normally stamped for a period of 180 days. Even if a person intends to visit UK for 1 month period, the UK authorities would give you a 6 month visit visa. You must make sure that you leave from the UK on or before the expiry of 6 months. A person leaving UK before the expiry of 6 months visa may travel back to the UK for the balance of the duration of his/her visa validity period.
It is also possible to get visit visas for durations of 2, 5, & 10 years. Please note, the grant of a longer visit visa will not allow you to stay in the UK for more than 180 days in any one year.
Please make sure that you disclose the exact duration of stay by a prospective visitor. We have noticed people mentioning 1 month or 2 month visit while applying for visa but they remain in the UK for the whole duration of 6 months. Please note, if you do this this the UK visa authorities will definitely note this and may refuse your future visa application for doing this.
