FACULTY OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Since 1996 the faculty of international students has trained thousands of doctors, dentists, and pharmacists.
Currently, there are 1200 International students studying in these medical disciplines at the University, from over 21 countries: India, Turkey, Russia, USA, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Pakistan, Sudan, Sweden, Yemen, Israel, Iraq, Oman, Nigeria, Philippines, Finland, Palestine. The AMU International graduates on the conclusion of their degree go on to successfully pass the national professional examination to practice, as in the norm, in the country of their choice.
Training is carried out in 74 departments of the University. The faculty’s teaching staff comprises 650 teachers and all the teachers employed are in the higher or the first medical category.

Baku – “The Paris of the East”, is one of the world’s ancient cities and today it is a vibrant and livable place with a warm and welcoming population. Many students comment on how safe they feel while walking around the city – even after dark. The city has something to offer everyone, no matter what their interests or passions, from history to art and sports and beyond. Baku has an international airport a few kilometers from AMU. It is just over a two-hour flight to Dubai or Moscow from Baku. All our students arrive at Heydar Aliyev International airport. From Baku airport, it is a 20 min trip to AMU campuses by car.
AMU ACHIEVEMENTS - The future of health care begins at AMU!
In 1996, AMU was the first to be included in the register of the international educational association in London, among the universities of the south Caucasus. AMU was elected a full member of the black sea University network in 1998, the International Association of Universities in 2000, and the European University Association in 2002.
Since, the 1990s, young doctors of graduated from AMU have succeeded not only in Azerbaijan but also in many other countries, including the United States, Germany, Turkey, Canada, Iran, the Russian Federation, Switzerland, and others countries. Annually dozens of graduates of Azerbaijan Medical university pass a commission in several advanced foreign countries (including the above–mentioned countries), certify the diplomas that they have received at graduation from AMU, and settle there.
AMU cooperates with a number of International educational, scientific and medical institutions (USAID, the American Australian Foundation (AAF), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), TIKA (the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency), the World Bank, The British Council, etc.). Students of AMU are active members of the International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA).
AMU is recognized by the National Medical Commission of INDIA and graduates of AMU are eligible for attending the National EXIT examination for Indian registration.
In recent years, the university has established intensive partnerships with International higher educational and research institutions in the framework of bilateral agreements and international programs.

AMU MD with USA Clinical Experience
Azerbaijan Medical University students have a unique study package that includes Clinical Experience in the USA. This exciting and essential experience allows AMU MD students to have the chance of voluntary medical experience under the supervision of a medical Professor or consultant in a University hospital and health center environment. This allows AMU MD students to build the essential references and recommendations that they need for further USA fellowship applications as well as a wide-ranging medical experience opportunity.

High School Diploma with passes (50% minimum) in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics Plus an Intermediate Level of English Equivalent To, IELTS 5.5 (TOEFL iBT 61) or High School Education is English medium school. Duration: 6 Years, Language of instruction – English.
