Labour
India Public School was started by Mr.V. J. George Kulangara it was
on 4th June 1993 in his home village Marangattupilly. He dreamed of
'a school with a difference'. His own Guru, the late Prof. K. M. Chandy,
former Governor of Madhya Pradesh inaugurated. Thanks to the co-operation
of all, it has its own tremendous growth and progress. Now a modern
Gurukulam function at Labour India Hills. Here, the Gurus and their
sishyas live, dine, play, learn and work together, keeping in time with
their school motto,
"Together We Labour, Together We Learn".
LOCATION

at a calm and serene atmosphere on Labour India Hills near Marangattupilly,
Kottayam Dist., Kerala, S. India

MISSION
The mission of Labour
India Public School & Junior College is to pursue child-centred
and activity-oriented education. A child is made confident, responsible
and self reliant through individual attention, based on a harmonious
blending of Gurukulam education and modern concepts. It is a research
institute where special care is provided for students with learning
disability.
We
are conscious that the new millennium will accept only a child-centred
education that can arouse the natural talents and capabilities of the
learners. Scientific educational principles, psychological dimensions
and philosophic ideas have to be integrated. So, in our institution,
there is a fusion of the ancient Gurukulam and modern educational concepts.
By following the system, we are confident of providing the children
with many opportunities for effective learning and of enabling them
to be leaders of the global village in the 21st century and
centuries to come.
The school is affiliated
to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi. The syllabi
followed is that of the CBSE. The text books used are those prepared
by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (N.C.E.R.T).
The medium of instruction is English. The academic year begins on middle
of May and close on end of March every year.
The size of the
class is an important factor in academic learning. Larger the class,
lesser the attention. Pupils receive from their teachers. Further, larger
size often prevents students from the teachers. In fact, the casement
system not only discourages teacher-student interaction, it dampens
the originality in students. A pupil teacher ratio in the neighbourhood
of 20:1 is our goal.
A well-trained
and accomplished teacher can make a dramatic difference in a child’s
life. Well-qualified and dedicated teachers are the pillars of our strong
educational system. It involves competency dedication and commitment.
The secret of education lies in respecting the pupil.
Our teacher do
not report to monologues, he encourages his pupils to think, to suggest
and questions. We believe that a teacher who is attempting to teach
without inspiring the pupil with a desire to learn is hammering on cold
iron.
Working Hours :
School - 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Office - 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Thus a teacher here
plays a multiple role - friend, philosopher, guide, educator, moral
instructor, catalyst and so on.
