AN OLD DECANTER
AN OLD DECANTER
There's an old decanter, sitting in my shelf.
But, there's no wine in it now.
No one knows when it had the last drop!
Yes, it's an old wine decanter!

In the memories of the past,
There were laughters and gibberings;
Dancing, and singing, around it.

But now, the shelf is all with cobwebs,
Where my memories too slept along.
Yes, 'twas an old wine decanter!

When the labyrinths of memories're open,
There was an old man in the past,
Who made wine for every Christmas,
For all the friends, guests and the family.

The wine was poured from the decanter
To the posses agog with jibberjabber.
And they sang merrily the song
"The snow lay on the ground.. '

Yes, on those Christmas eves, ne'er
The glasses went without wine,
Cause he kept on filling the decanter.
Followed then the Christmas cake, to go with.

And now, I looked into my shelf again,
And saw the same decanter,

Resting in peace, with my memories;
Yes, the same old wine decanter!
